What Did the Birds Say?
In the early mornings at The Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary the permanent residents waken the forest. The beautiful noises theses wild birds made filled the sanctuary. The sanctuary for the birds was built around its existing trees which saved the lives of the hundred-year-old trees. It also gave the sanctuary a more natural forest look, not as if these beautiful creatures were sitting in cages at a zoo. All of the wild birds in The Laura Quinn Wild Bird Sanctuary are permanent residents mainly because of severe injuries they receives from being hit by cars. Although all the birds in there filled my heart with joy, there were two birds in particular that caught my eye!
There was another little guy that my little eye spied on, and his name is Flop! This gorgeous Blue Jay was found to be one of the most energetic birds and the most shocking of them all! Dear old Flop, the wild bird Blue Jay use to be a house bird dependent on humans. Being that he
has never been exposed to the wild, Flop had to be sent to live in the
Sanctuary. There he will be fed regularly everyday, get mani-pedi and the
rest of the top notch spa treatment Flop is one of my favorites
because he is a bird that meows! He learned from his previous owner's cat
and used his mimicry intelligence to recreate that sound. AMAZING! I had
to just get it on video. First, birds meow, so what's next? Will
cats learn to bark? *Sings* "What did the bird say?"

You had such a bond with those two birds..it's incredible to look and them and feel them looking back at you, just as curious. We also saw a strangler fig/ banyan tree here, they are true to name and grow on other trees. There was somebody working on a new encasement, I'm curious what will inhabit it.
