It is time to pack!
Finally you are ready to go home after a long week of physical activity and journal reflections! When you arrive at the motel of the last day from kayaking in the scorching sun of Florida you want to kick back and relax. Unfortunately, this is not a ordeal situation because you have to pack, a blog post, and more packing to do. Placing the key into the hotel room you open the doors as fast as you can while holding your backpack, fins, drenched towel, wearing a soaked bathing suit, and enter a wonderfully refreshing breath of freezing cold air. So you take two steps into your somewhat re- cleaned room from the motel and you drop everything after two steps to run to the bathroom because two hours in a car ride holding a bladder while wearing a wet bathing suit is one of the most uncomfortable things in this world. After freshening up you realize the dreadful idea of packing has come back into your mind and you turn right back around to the bathroom to collect your things to pack. After carefully placing everything in the bathroom that is yours in a plastic bag you realize you need that exact same stuff for the mornings showers, so you place it all back. Slowly going around the hotel room like sloth becomes like a game because you do not want to miss anything the you will need to go home with.
In a separate pile, you have all of your clean clothes that you have from the night before which you were reluctant to get done and all of your new things you decided were a good idea to buy for yourself, family, and friends. Looking at this pile, you may not think that it is possible to fit all of these new and shiny things into your bag. Doubt sets in dramatically. After finding every little thing you can think of you ask your roommate to do the same thing to ensure that she has found everything she owns and needs to take back with her as well.
Slowly you come to realize that it is now 7 pm and you have not written your blog post yet and you hop online complete that, and write your final journal article of the week in your notebook. Little to say you reflect on everything that has happened in the past week and decide it is time for a great nights rest. Set your alarm for 8am and begin to snooze.
It is finally the morning and you are mentally and physically drained but realize that you will be in your comfortable bed in less than ten hours and you are ready to pack! So, just like a sloth again you slowly start in your bathroom and work your way out. Taking every little thing from the bathroom like your shampoo, conditioner, razor, soap, another bar of soap, and your wonderful dollar loofa that decided to fall apart on you the first day. Then you see your bathing suits hanging on a towel bar and you grab those, thankfully they dried over night! When did in the bathroom you realize that you seriously do not need any of those travel sized items and toss them because they are practically all gone and there is limited room in the duffel bag. Next is the sink outside the bathroom door, again not wanting anything to over pack you see that you do not need to grab the 'complementary' soap and hair products. Lastly your clothes that are hanging and folded in the some what of a closet and draws your fold up even though they are disgusting from this weeks trip and throw it in a plastic bag and seal that shut immediately ( The dirty clothes are the worst part). Thinking you has everything just like before you ask your roommate to check again. Finally realizing that you may actually have everything in your suitcase and your small personal item you realize you are finally ready and packed to go home one spirit airlines, but that is story for another time!
