Florida Bound - A Few Reminders

 The wait is over!

If you're like me then you've been counting down the days until our trip. But don't get ahead of yourself yet. There are a few important things we must get ready before we are on our way to Florida.

Make sure you have everything you need!

Packing can be very stressful. It is always my least favorite part of a vacation, however, it needs to be done. Not waiting for the last minute and making a checklist can help make sure you don't forget to pack anything you need for the trip. A checklist can also help you determine what is unnecessary. Since we are going to Florida where the weather is HOT and HUMID, we only need clothes appropriate for this weather. Leave behind your hoodies and pants and instead pack a few T-shirts, tanks, shorts, and bathing suits. We will only be there for a week so don't pack your whole closet.

Since we will be scuba diving and/or snorkeling, we will need a few extra things. Don't forget to bring your mask, snorkel, and fins. If you're scuba certified you will also need your certification card and log book. Also, don't forget your identification books/guides so that we can figure out which fish and corals we are seeing! It's a great idea to familiarize yourself with the most common organism we will encounter. Check out these websites about which fish and corals we'll likely see.

Make sure you are ready for your flight!

You will need to know your flight and boarding time. Make sure you arrive at the airport with plenty of time to check in, go through TSA, and make your way to your departure gate. Three hours ahead should ensure that you have enough time and don't have to stress about missing your flight. You will also need to find out which terminal you will be leaving from so you don't show up in the wrong place. By entering your ticket number into the American Airlines website you will be able to figure out which terminal and gate we will be departing from ahead of time. This can help reduce any stress since you will know where to go ahead of time. You can also check-in on the website 24 hours before your fight in order to speed up your check in process.

Come with a positive attitude!

Be happy and enjoy this opportunity! We are about to be in Florida! Get ready to have lots of fun, make great memories, and learn some amazing things!

See you guys soon!
