The Spirit Airlines Florida Flight Guide

1.      Handling Regret

When first learning that you were flying down to Florida you were most likely excited, only for that excitement to be dashed by the plane ticket proudly displaying Spirit Airlines. Your initial reaction might be one of fear and regret. “Is this trip really worth facing the horrors of Spirit?” you might be thinking to yourself. The truth is it will be worth it when you reach Florida, but that doesn’t give comfort as you approach that bright yellow plane. The best way to handle this regret is to pretend your flying on a better airline or just tell yourself you’ll sleep through. It might be better to simply lie to yourself to help get through this.

1.      Enjoy the Little Things

Sometimes you’ll have unexpected surprises with your Spirit Airlines trip. Something extra might go your way like for Kat who was able to bring TWO BANANAS through TSA. Flying out of the smaller Atlantic City Airport with Spirit also meant much less people to stand in line with for security. The flight might also arrive early as ours did coming into Fort Lauderdale almost 30 minutes early.

1.      The Lucky Few

Not everyone is lucky, and some people like Cady and Alex might have a streak of bad luck omens that prevent them from enjoying this step. A select few might get extra benefits from flying with Spirit. Emily was stuck in a middle seat and ended up winning 5000 bonus miles with Spirit for free. After taking off you can also move around and take the empty seats of people who couldn’t survive Spirit Airlines. This might give you more room to stretch out and relax while flying.

1.      Final Destination

In the end you are on this plane just to get to Florida and after flying for over 2 hours, getting to see the state and beaches during your final decent can bring back the joy that Spirit took from you by keeping you in those terrible plane seats. Plus, that final decent signals your time with Spirit is coming to an end until your return back to New Jersey which is always a positive. Now that your flight has concluded you can pretend it never happened and just enjoy the warm weather and beautiful environments Florida has to offer after leaving Fort Lauderdale airport.

  1. I’m super excited to see how this week will go because of the bad luck omens. Hopefully Alex and Cady keep all of their body parts intact. Also, really pretty picture! Who took that? As for the bananas, sometimes you get lucky and sometimes you don’t. Although I was able to keep the bananas, I still had to take off my shoes and reveal that I wasn’t wearing any socks. A nice TSA employee was even kind enough to comment “c’mon, really?” on my bare feet. Keep it up tropical osprey!
