8 Steps to Packing like a Pro

I’ve got packing down to a science that always involves these 10 simple steps.
Step 1: Procrastinate
This means you do not pack until the night before and you do not start until at least after 6 pm. You start this by planning in your head that packing will begin by 1 in the afternoon at the latest, but you become easily distracted. Start by binge watching a couple episodes of your favorite tv show, take your dog for one last walk before you leave, make some food, maybe even scroll through Instagram for a ridiculously long time. Then realize it’s 5 hours later and you must begin!
Step 2: Realize You Need to Shop
So you’ve finally started packing, but low and behold you’re missing essential items for a trip, especially those airplane size bottles enforced when flying. In a sense, the procrastination continues, another hour must be wasted at your local CVS.
Step 3: Sort Your Clothes
Now its time to rip apart your closet searching for what clothes to bring. You must throw all your clothes on your bed, look through them a minimum of 3 times and then decide on the same 5 outfits you always wear anyway.

Step 4: Touch Your Dog
You’ve accomplished picking out your clothes so now you get a break to cuddle the pet that’s giving you puppy dog eyes, begging you not to leave them.
Step 5: Stuff Those Toiletries in Your Bag
Your bag is full of clothes by now, but you still must fit those toiletries. Shove those in there and any extra things you haven’t yet fit. Use all that strength to push everything down deep, limiting the number of bags you must carry.
Step 7: Panic
This is one of the most important steps, have a little panic attack about whether you forgot something from your almost jam-packed bag. Take everything back out, check it all with your mental check list, look around your room, put it all back in your bag and breathe.
Step 8: Attempt to Close Your Bag
Sit down right on top of that bag to ensure optimal jamming, and pull that zipper shut with every ounce of strength you have left in you. You have completed your packing journey.

  1. Not going to lie, this has to be the most realistic packing list I have ever read. For my trip down here i did all of this (well minus the dog part, instead it was checking on my turtles). Great job on your explanation for everything.
