Florida Keys Food Reviews

Throughout this exciting week, we have gone on countless adventures all over the Florida Keys.  Snorkeling, diving, shark tagging, kayaking, exploring the Everglades, and spending some free time with our new friends has surely been quite the experience.  But between all of these thrilling activities we had to stop and refuel our exhausted bodies with some delicious food.  Going out for lunch and dinner with everyone together was a fun time and really gave us all a chance to bond.  These meal times were definitely a significant part of this trip, where many of us got to enjoy and try new foods and got to know our peers better and began building new friendships.

So now that the week is over, I can review some of the restaurants and cafes we visited along the way and decide which were the best and which ones could improve regarding taste, portion size, price, and service.

Skippers Dockside

If you like beautiful views of the sunset over the waterfront along with fun games to play while waiting for your food, this is definitely the place to visit.  The items on the menu itself were a bit pricey, but if you can spare the extra cash it is totally worth it.  The food was delicious and came in decent sized portions.  Service here was excellent, as well.  You absolutely must come here when you’re in Key Largo.  Visit here to see more of what they have to offer!

Jaxson’s Ice Cream Parlor and Restaurant

Got a sweet tooth?  This place has no problem curing that!  Serving ice cream sundaes as big as my head is always an A+ in my book.  You will not be leaving hungry…unless you end up having a bad server like we did.  Forgetting our food, bringing out the wrong order, and rudely talking about us within hearing distance was not at all appealing.

Porky’s Bayside

Seating outside is always a plus to me, especially when we come in soaking wet in bathing suits after a fun day full of snorkeling and beach sweeps in the pouring rain.  The conch fritters were surprisingly appetizing, and I really enjoyed my entrée of seared tuna.  Maybe not the most extravagant place we visited, but it definitely had a great atmosphere and tasty food.
